Terms of Service

1. The service

harvis.dev takes a folder of static website files, stores them, and serves them on a web address we provide. It is free to use. We add, change, and retire features as the service develops, and we will not always be able to warn you first.

These terms cover the website, the dashboard, the command-line tool, the HTTP API, and the MCP server — all of which we call the service below.

2. Your account

You need an account to manage sites. Keep your credentials to yourself: anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so write to support@harvis.dev as soon as you think someone else has access.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age where you live if that is higher.

3. Your content

You keep full ownership of everything you upload. Uploading gives us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your files, copy them for backup and delivery, and serve them publicly at your site's web address. Nothing more, and only for as long as you keep them here.

You are responsible for what you publish and you must hold the rights to publish it. That includes anything an AI tool wrote for you — once it is live, it is your site.

4. Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Don't publish malware, phishing pages, spam, scams, harassment, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.

Don't impersonate anyone, and don't misrepresent who you are or who you are acting for.

Don't probe, scan, or try to get around the security of the service, our infrastructure, or other people's sites hosted here. Don't run load tests against us or publish benchmarks of the service without our written permission.

Don't resell, rent, or sublicense access to the service as though it were yours to give.

5. Fair use of shared resources

The service is free and the capacity behind it is shared. Fair use means using it for what it is: publishing static websites that people visit.

Some things it is not for — a file store, a backup target, or a media archive; serving assets as a CDN for a site hosted somewhere else; running a proxy, VPN, tunnel, or link shortener; or mining cryptocurrency in a visitor's browser.

Publishing the same or near-identical content across many sites is not fair use, whether the aim is to game search rankings or to stretch a limit. Neither is splitting one workload across several accounts to take more than your share.

A site that puts a disproportionate load on our storage, bandwidth, or servers may be rate-limited, suspended, or removed, whether or not the load was deliberate. Where there is time, we will get in touch before we act.

6. Automation, the CLI, and the API

Deploying from a script, a CI pipeline, the command-line tool, the HTTP API, or an AI agent through our MCP server is exactly what those interfaces are for. Use them.

Automation pointed anywhere else is not welcome: creating accounts in bulk, scraping this site or the sites other people host here, or calling endpoints faster than the documented limits.

We may rate-limit or block automated traffic that threatens the stability of the service, and we may change those limits as we learn what they need to be.

7. Illegal content removal

We have zero tolerance for illegal content. Anything illegal — or that we reasonably believe to be illegal — is removed immediately and without notice to you. This includes, but is not limited to, child sexual abuse material, content that infringes intellectual property rights, stolen data, malware, phishing pages, and content that promotes or facilitates criminal activity.

We may remove the content, disable the site serving it, and suspend or delete the account behind it, all without prior warning. Where we are required to, or where we judge it necessary, we report illegal content and the related account information to law enforcement or other competent authorities.

8. Enforcement

When something breaks these terms we may remove the content, disable the site, rate-limit the account, or suspend or delete it. We weigh how serious the problem is and whether it looks deliberate — but illegal content, active attacks, and anything putting other people at risk we act on immediately and without notice.

If we suspend your account, don't open a new one to get around the suspension, and don't republish content we have taken down. Either one is a breach of these terms on its own.

To report a site hosted here, email abuse@harvis.dev with the web address of the site and what is wrong with it. Include enough detail that we can find the page you mean.

9. Free service, fair limits

The service is provided free of charge. To keep it that way we apply limits — on file size, total storage, bandwidth, and the number of sites an account can hold — and we adjust them as the service grows.

Reaching a limit is not a breach of these terms. Deliberately working around one is.

10. Termination

You can delete a site or your whole account whenever you like, from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.

When a site or an account goes, its hosted files go with it and its web address is released for someone else to take. Deletion is not reversible, so keep your own copies.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it fast and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we cannot guarantee that a site stays online or that its files survive. Keep your own copies of your files.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, harvis.dev is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost business, arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it.

13. Changes to these terms

We update these terms as the service develops. If a change is material we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. The effective date above always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
